Huracan vs Racing

Huracán let a big chance slip away last Friday, when they played with a man advantage for 60 minutes yet still drew 0-0 at home against Vélez Sarsfield. Even so, El Globo remain unbeaten in their last six league matches (three wins and three draws) and sit on 12 points in the Torneo Clausura, which currently has them qualifying both for the playoffs and for the 2026 Copa Sudamericana via the aggregate table. In addition, Huracán have taken seven of the last nine points available at home in the league. Luciano Giménez will serve the second of his three-match suspension, while Nehuén Paz returns and Matías Tissera remains sidelined.

Racing Club returned to winning ways in the league last Friday, easing past San Lorenzo 2-0 at home thanks to goals from Nazareno Colombo and Santiago Solari. With that, La Academia ended a five-match winless run in the Torneo Clausura (one draw and four defeats) and climbed to seven points in this competition, moving closer to the Copa Sudamericana spots via the aggregate table. On the road, Racing have collected four of nine possible points in this tournament. On Tuesday the 16th, they won 1-0 away at Vélez Sarsfield in the first leg of the Copa Libertadores quarterfinals.

With the return leg of the Copa Libertadores Quarterfinals just a few days away Racing is going to use an all reserved lineup here so even though Huracan has been too inconsistent, I’m going to trust them here to take advantage of this and take the 3 points.
