Argentine Primera Division: Talleres – San Lorenzo Odds for July 11, 2025

Talleres – San Lorenzo

Talleres have had a very poor first half of 2025. Their 2-1 home loss to Instituto on Matchday 16 of the Torneo Apertura left them in the relegation zone in the aggregate table, with just 13 points. In fact, the team picked up only one point from their last 12 available in the league. In fact, they have been the worst home side in the league so far, earning five points from 24 on offer. Following that, they ended their Copa Libertadores campaign at the bottom of Group D. Diego Cocca has taken over as the new head coach, welcoming back Luis Angulo and Luis Sequeira, who returned from CA Central Córdoba and Independiente Rivadavia, respectively. Meanwhile, Blas Riveros was sold to Cerro Porteño (Paraguay). Talleres won one, drew two and lost one of their winter friendlies. However, Cocca resigned earlier this week without playing any official games. Coach Carlos Tevez will take over since Friday. San Lorenzo squandered a golden opportunity in the Torneo Apertura, falling 1-0 at home to Platense in the semifinals. With 27 points, they currently occupy one of the Copa Sudamericana qualification spots in the aggregate table—despite having won only one of their last six matches in this competition in regular time, with three draws and two defeats. El Ciclón lost just one of nine away matches this season, with three wins and five draws. Damián Ayude, previously the reserve team coach, has taken over as head coach following the departure of Miguel Russo, who left to manage Boca Juniors. Russo took Malcom Braida with him, while Iker Muniain left and Elián Irala was sold to join Shabab Al-Ahli Club in the UAE. San Lorenzo have yet to make any new signings, though they did win their only friendly of the winter break and advance to the Copa Argentina round of 16 by beating second-tier side Quilmes on penalties after a goalless draw last Saturday. Both lost important players during the offseason and definitely have a weaker squad, but while San Lorenzo prepared during the winter with a new coach, Talleres signed Diego Cocca who resigned without even coaching one game because the club sold some players and Carlos Tevez will manage the team after a couple of practices, so that’s why I think the visitors should be able to hold to at least a draw.
