Argentine Primera Division: Rosario Central vs Huracan Odds for May 18, 2025

Rosario Central vs Huracan

Rosario Central, the best team in the group stage, had to work harder than expected to get through the round of 16, but eventually secured a 2-0 home win over Estudiantes (eighth in Group A) with late goals in the 88th and 95th minutes. El Canalla are now unbeaten in nine Torneo Apertura matches (six wins and three draws). Ariel Holan’s team also recorded their ninth consecutive victory at Estadio Gigante de Arroyito. Facundo Mallo has recovered from a muscle issue and is available for the weekend.

Huracán, fourth in Group A, showed great resilience in the round of 16, defeating Deportivo Riestra 3-2 at home in a hard-fought match last Sunday. El Globo snapped a three-game winless streak in the league (one draw and two losses) and continue to dream of a first league title in 52 years. On a less positive note, Frank Kudelka’s men lost 2-0 to Newell’s Old Boys in their last away league match, ending a five-game unbeaten run on the road (three wins and two draws). On Wednesday, May 14, Huracán drew 0-0 at CD América de Cali for Matchday 5 of the Copa Sudamericana. Walter Mazzanti has recovered from a broken arm and is available.

Rosario Central has been one of the best teams of this tournament and especially at home where they have a good undefeated run and they’ve scored at least once in the last 10 games at their stadium. Considering this is a one leg elimination game, once there’s a goal there should be more so I’ll take the OVER on this very short line.
