San Lorenzo vs Atletico Tucuman
San Lorenzo took a major step toward the playoffs last week, defeating newly promoted San Martín SJ with a goal from Ezequiel Cerutti in the 69th minute. In doing so, they ended a three-match winless streak in the league (two draws and one loss) and reached 22 points in the Torneo Apertura, placing them third in Group B. San Lorenzo have lost just one of six home matches in 2025, with three wins and two draws. Defenders Jhoan Romaña and Gastón Hernández have served their respective suspensions and are available for selection. Matias Reali succumbed to an ankle problem and will miss out. Atlético Tucumán secured a much-needed win last Monday, defeating Instituto 3-2 at home thanks to a 91st-minute goal from Nicolás Laméndola. The victory lifted them out of the relegation zone and brought them to 10 points in the Torneo Apertura. It also ended a six-game winless streak in the league, which included one draw and five losses. In fact, Atlético have taken just one point from their last 15 available on the road. San Lorenzo will secure a playoff place with a win here, they’ve been solid at home while Atletico has been quite poor away and considering they need to win or their chances to advance could be gone, I expect them to take risks giving the hosts space for their quick counters.
