Independiente Rivadavia – Barracas Central
Independiente Rivadavia continue to show great performance. Last Thursday, the team debuted in the Torneo Apertura with an impressive 1-0 victory over Newell’s Old Boys away, with the newly arrived Mauro Peinipil scoring the decisive goal and Ezequiel Centurion saving a penalty to secure the three points. Alfredo Berti’s team extended their unbeaten run to six league matches, with five wins and one draw. At home, La Lepra has gone seven games without losing, winning five and drawing two. Barracas Central had a challenging start to the year, failing to hold onto their lead and ending up losing 3-1 to Racing Club, playing as hosts at Sarandi Arsenal. With no points in Group A, El Guapo need to improve quickly, as they are winless in their last four league matches, with three draws and one loss in that span. However, their performance on the road has been more solid: Rubén Insua’s side lost only one of their last four away games, winning two and drawing one. No important missings for either team, Independiente Rivadavia has been strong at home scoring in 6 of their last 7 matches there, Barracas defense started as bad as last season so I definitely like the chance of having at least a couple of goals here.
