Union – Boca Jrs
Union Santa Fe endured a tough start to the season. Despite putting in a respectable performance, the team could not avoid defeat against a strong opponent, losing 3-1 to Estudiantes on the road after conceding three goals in the first 20 minutes. This result marks their fourth loss in the last six league matches, alongside one win and one draw. On a brighter note, El Tatengue won three of their last four home games, with their only defeat being a 3-2 loss to Talleres. Head coach Cristian Gonzalez has the full squad available for Wednesday. Boca Juniors had a hectic start to the Torneo Apertura. In an intense match, El Xeneize was outplayed for large stretches and ended with a disappointing goalless draw against Argentinos Juniors at home. Along with securing their first league point, Fernando Gago’s men extended their unbeaten streak in the competition to eight matches (five wins and three draws). On the road, Boca claimed seven out of the last nine points available. Boca played poorly and as bad as last season in the league debut at home vs Argentinos Jrs and I expect them to struggle here as well without spanish midfielder Ander Herrera who is injured, as well as Edinson Cavani and defender Luis Advincula who will rest.
