Aldosivi vs Barracas Central
Aldosivi continue to struggle in their return to the top division. The team put in a respectable performance last Sunday but suffered another defeat, losing 1-0 away to Newell’s Old Boys. After three consecutive losses, El Tiburon remain without points in the Torneo Apertura, leaving them at the bottom of the point-average standings for now. To make matters worse, Andrés Yllana’s side lost two of their last three matches at Estadio José María Minella, with just one victory in that time.
Barracas Central secured their first victory of 2025 last Saturday, defeating Banfield 1-0 while playing as the home team at Sarandi Arsenal, with a goal from Kevin Jappert in a dull match. With this result, El Guapo reached four points in three rounds of the Torneo Apertura and ended a negative streak of five league games without a win (four draws and one loss). Rubén Insua’s team lost only one of their last five away matches, winning two and drawing two in that span.
Barracas was too lucky to beat Banfield in a match where they needed some help from the referee and the VAR. Aldosivi looked a bit better against Newell’s so even though they looked unreliable so far, I’m going to trust them to finally get their first win against the very poor Barracas.
