Boca vs Independiente Rivadavia
Boca Juniors put on a very poor display last Saturday when they faced one of the strongest teams in the league and ended up losing 2-0 to Racing Club away from home. This result knocked them out of the playoff zone in Group A, as El Xeneize remain with just five points in four matches in the Torneo Apertura. The defeat also ended their 10-game unbeaten streak in the league (six wins and four draws). Boca have been undefeated in their last eight home matches in this competition (five wins and three draws). Carlos Palacios succumbed to a stomach flu and will miss out. Kevin Zenón will serve a one-match suspension and will not be available on Tuesday.
Independiente Rivadavia remain one of the best teams in the league despite their low budget. The team secured a valuable 2-2 draw at home against Estudiantes, coming from behind twice in the clash of Group A leaders. Now, Alfredo Berti’s squad stay in the playoff zone with eight points, just two behind leaders Argentinos Juniors. La Lepra are unbeaten in their last nine league matches, with six wins and three draws. On the road, Independiente hold a four-game winning run without conceding a goal.
Independiente Rivadavia deserves to be trusted here against this still very poor Boca that will have important missings in Marcos Rojo, Carlos Palacios, Edinson Cavani among others.
