Gimnasia vs San Martin de San Juan
Gimnasia LP had a decent performance in the debut of their new head coach, Diego Flores. Though they struggled at times, the team managed to secure a valuable 0-0 draw against Lanus away from home. However, El Lobo still have plenty of room for improvement, as they have only four points from five matches in the Torneo Apertura, currently far from the playoff spots in Group B. Overall, they have lost six of their last eight league matches, with just one win and one draw. In 2025, Gimnasia took three out of six possible points at home, beating Godoy Cruz 3-0 but losing 2-0 to San Lorenzo.
San Martín SJ continue to struggle in their return to the top division. Last Thursday, the team were outplayed from start to finish by Talleres (who had not earned any points until then) and ended up losing 1-0 at home. As a result, El Verdinegro remain stuck at just three points in five rounds of the Torneo Apertura, with three draws, two losses, and only one goal scored so far. San Martin have not won away from home in three matches, picking up only two points out of a possible nine in that stretch.
Gimnasia are showing slow improvements lately, coming from a solid win against Godoy Cruz and a decent performance in the draw at Lanus, so I want to trust them here against this San Martin who still couldn’t win this season.
