Aldosivi vs Sarmiento
Aldosivi put in a great effort last weekend and came close to earning points on their visit to Boca Juniors but ultimately fell 2-1 after conceding the decisive goal in the 84th minute. As a result, El Tiburón remain the worst team in the league in 2025, collecting just one point in seven matches from a draw and six defeats, leaving them at the bottom of both the overall standings and the relegation table. At home, Aldosivi secured only one point from nine available so far this season.
Sarmiento returned to their usual standards last Saturday, suffering a 1-0 away defeat to Rosario Central (Group B leaders) after a poor performance. With that result, the team remain at five points in the Torneo Apertura and has won just one of their last ten league matches, along with four draws and five losses. Additionally, El Verde have gone 15 matches without an away victory (four draws and 11 defeats). Juan Manuel Insaurralde received a red card against Rosario Central and is suspended for Saturday.
The two main relegation candidates meet here in a game that will have big implications a few months from now when the season ends and two teams go to the 2nd division. They have the two worst defenses in the league with 16 and 12 goals conceded in 7 rounds, Sarmiento won’t have Insaurralde who is their most experienced defender, and I’ll take this short totals line because one goal should open things up.
