River Plate are still far from their desired level, but their individual quality is enough to keep earning points. Additionally, River have not lost any of their last eight home league matches, winning six and drawing two.
Estudiantes celebrated an exciting comeback last week, defeating CA Central Córdoba 3-2 at home after trailing by two goals until the 69th minute. With this victory, El Pincha extended their unbeaten streak to ten league matches (five wins and five draws), reaching 15 points in the Torneo Apertura, which places them as leaders in Group B, alongside Argentinos Juniors and Tigre. Additionally, Estudiantes remain unbeaten in their last nine away matches (two wins and seven draws). On Tuesday 25, they won 2-1 over third-tier side Sarmiento La Banda in a Copa Argentina game.
Two of the best teams meet here, and both can become leaders of their respective groups with a win. River has struggled to score so far this season but they have so many good players that is a matter of time until they improve. Estudiantes has one of the best attacks with 13 goals but also they average one conceded per game, so I’ll go for the OVER here as I can imagine both teams scoring.
