Argentine Primera Division: Velez vs Huracan Odds for March 02, 2025

Velez vs Huracan

Vélez Sarsfield remains one of the worst teams in the league while defending their title. After a 0-0 draw away to Lanus on Matchday 7, El Fortín are still winless and goalless in 2025, having collected just two points from two draws and five defeats. This leaves them far from playoff contention. Additionally, Vélez managed only one point out of nine at home. On Wednesday 26, Velez won 1-0 over third-tier club Ferrocarril Midland in the Copa Argentina first round. Agustin Bouzat collected his fifth yellow card and is suspended for Sunday. On a positive note, Imanol Machuca has recovered from his muscle injury and is ready to return to action.

Huracán confirmed their excellent form last Sunday, securing a well-deserved 2-0 home victory over arch-rivals San Lorenzo, with goals from Fabio Pereyra and Rodrigo Cabral. El Globo are now unbeaten in four league matches (three wins and one draw), reaching 12 points and staying within the playoff zone in Group A. On the downside, Huracán picked up only two points from the last 18 available in away matches.

Less than 3 months after winning the title, Velez are not only still winless after 7 rounds but they couldn’t even score a goal yet in this competition. Midweek they finally broke the spell in Copa Argentina scoring through a penalty so while I wouldn’t be surprised if they lose here against Huracan who are coming from winning the derby vs San Lorenzo, I know that sooner than later they will score again so I’m going to take the OVER on this short totals line.

BET: OVER 1.75 @ 1.85
