Instituto vs Godoy Cruz
Instituto entered a downward spiral. Last Sunday, the team were powerless against the strength of Argentinos Juniors, arguably the best team of the season so far, and suffered a 2-0 defeat away from home. La Gloria have now gone five matches without a win (one draw and four losses, failing to score in any of them), a streak that leaves them with seven points and currently outside the playoff zone.
Godoy Cruz returned to winning ways last Monday, defeating Barracas Central 2-1 away with a brace from Lucas Martínez Dupuy, who sealed the match in the 90th minute. El Tomba are now four games unbeaten in the Torneo Apertura (two wins and two draws), reaching six points in Group B (after having three deducted due to incidents). They are just three points away from the last playoff spot with a game in hand. Additionally, Godoy Cruz won their last two away matches.
Two teams in different form meet here, while Instituto has been unreliable and couldn’t even score a goal in the last 5 games, Godoy Cruz looks improved and playing much better than at the beginning of the season so I’ll trust them here to avoid a defeat.
