Godoy Cruz vs San Lorenzo
Godoy Cruz earned a valuable point in their visit to Instituto last Sunday, securing a 1-1 draw in an intense match. As a result, El Tomba extended their unbeaten streak to five league matches (two wins and three draws), but they remain with just seven points in the Torneo Apertura, with one game in hand and three points deducted due to incidents against Talleres in Matchday 3. They currently sit two points above the relegation zone in the aggregate table. However, Godoy Cruz have yet to win at home in 2025, collecting just two points out of nine possible.
San Lorenzo took a step back in what has been an excellent campaign last Saturday when they played a poor match and lost 2-1 at home to Independiente. As a result of two defeats in their last three matches in the Torneo Apertura (alongside just one win), El Ciclon dropped to fourth place in Group B with 17 points, three behind their most recent opponents. San Lorenzo earned seven out of 12 possible points on the road in 2025, with two wins, one draw, and one loss so far. Nicolas Tripichio had to be replaced against Independiente due to a muscle problem and will miss out on Friday.
San Lorenzo no longer has the strong defense they had in the first games of the season: they conceded 6 goals in the last 3 games but at the same time created lots of chances in the 3-2 against Racing and the 1-2 defeat vs Independiente so I have to take the OVER here as Godoy Cruz is in need of a win to get into the playoffs zone.
