Rosario Central vs Gimnasia
Rosario Central secured a valuable point in their visit to Talleres (2024 Liga Profesional runners-up) last Monday, drawing 0-0 in a hard-fought match. As a result, El Canalla remain second in Group B with 18 points, just two behind leaders Independiente. They have lost only once in their nine Torneo Apertura matches so far (five wins and three draws). Additionally, Central boast a strong home record, having won four consecutive matches at Estadio Gigante de Arroyito. Facundo Mallo is still recovering from a muscular injury and will not be available on Saturday.
Gimnasia LP delivered another disappointing performance last Monday, managing only a 1-1 home draw against Deportivo Riestra, with an own goal saving them in the 96th minute. Despite this, El Lobo remain in the playoff zone in group B, accumulating 11 points after losing just one of their last six matches in the Torneo Apertura (three wins and two draws).
Rosario Central has slowed down lately, not even scoring a goal in the last two games and the third one was a lucky win against the poor Sarmiento. Gimnasia is not exactly the most reliable team but they’ve been solid lately and I’ll trust them here to continue like this.
