Boca – San Lorenzo
Boca Juniors delivered their best performance of the year last Wednesday, dominating a tough opponent like Lanús from start to finish and securing a convincing 3–0 away victory, with Miguel Merentiel scoring a brace. With that result, El Xeneize ended a four-match winless run in the league —three draws and one defeat— and moved into the playoff qualification zone in Group A with 12 points. San Lorenzo delivered a strong defensive performance in their Matchday 8 fixture and secured a valuable goalless draw away to Talleres. As a result, El Ciclón remain inside the playoff qualification zone in Group A, with 12 points after losing just one of their last seven matches in the Torneo Apertura —three wins and three draws. On the downside, the team managed by Damián Ayude have not won in their last three away games, collecting only two points from nine available in that span. All regular starters are available for Wednesday’s visit to Boca Juniors. Big derby and I expect to see goals here like in 4 of the last 5 times they met where we had at least 2 in each game. San Lorenzo has been good in attack lately, Boca comes from a very solid 3-0 win at Lanus, so this line looks too short and worth a bet.
