Already out of contention for a place in the Copa Libertadores round of 16, Nacional secured a 1–0 home victory over Coquimbo Unido to finish third in Group B with eight points, earning a spot in the Copa Sudamericana playoffs. Since then, they have resumed domestic action in the Uruguayan Torneo Intermedio following the break for the FIFA World Cup. During the transfer window, they lost Nicolás López, who was sold to Platense, while strengthening the squad with the arrivals of Bruno Zuculini from Racing Club and goalkeeper Alexis Martín Arias from Cerro Porteño. On Friday, El Bolso suffered a 2–1 home defeat to Montevideo Wanderers, leaving them third in Group B of the Torneo Intermedio with 10 points from six matches and sixth in the annual standings. They have won just one of their last four matches across all competitions (one draw and two defeats), while that result also ended a five-match unbeaten home run (four wins and one draw). Tigre came alive just in time to keep their Copa Sudamericana campaign alive. A 2–0 home victory over Alianza Atlético Sullana — combined with the draw between América de Cali and CS Macará — lifted El Matador into second place in Group A on nine points thanks to the head-to-head tiebreaker, securing a place in the playoffs. With no major activity in the transfer market and still awaiting the start of the Torneo Clausura, where they will look to make up a six-point gap to the final continental qualification spot in the annual table, Tigre returned to competitive action last week, suffering a 1–0 defeat to Independiente Rivadavia in the Copa Argentina Round of 32. That result also ended a five-match unbeaten run across all competitions (two wins and three draws). Nacional is having a very poor season in both their domestic league and the Copa Libertadores where they only finished 3rd in the group. Tigre are in a similar situation, they couldn’t make it to the league playoffs and they are now eliminated of Copa Argentina after a 0-1 where they looked poor, so I can’t expect much from these two teams and will take the UNDER here considering the visitors will be happy with a draw.
