Argentine Primera Division: Tigre – River Odds for August 8, 2026

Tigre – River

Tigre disappointed their fans on Wednesday night, drawing 0-0 at home to Belgrano after Alfio Oviedo missed a penalty that would have given them the win in the 89th minute. El Matador moved onto four points after three rounds of the Torneo Clausura, but have won just one of their last 14 league matches (eight draws and five defeats), leaving them six points behind the last Copa Sudamericana qualification place in the overall standings. Diego Dabove’s side have also extended their winless home run in the league to six matches, drawing five and losing one. River Plate continue to sink deeper into trouble. On Sunday night, El Millonario once again produced a poor performance and lost 1-0 at home to Rosario Central. The result left them bottom of Group B, without a point or a goal after three rounds of the Torneo Clausura. In fact, El Millonario have now lost four league matches in a row, a run that has taken them out of the Copa Sudamericana qualification places in the overall standings, the minimum acceptable target for a club of River’s stature. River are desperate for points after so many consecutive losses. They spent almost 70 million euros on transfers, a league record by far, and still have no points so another bad result could be the end for coach Coudet. I expect them to take risks that Tigre can exploit, so I’ll take the OVER here.
