Atletico Tucuman – Instituto
Atlético Tucumán took three hugely valuable points away to Estudiantes Río Cuarto on Monday afternoon, beating them 1-0 in a very even match thanks to an 82nd-minute goal from Clever Ferreira. El Decano moved onto eight points after five rounds of the Torneo Clausura, putting them into the Group B playoff qualification places. They have also practically secured their top-flight status, opening up a 12-point gap over Aldosivi in the overall standings after losing just one of their last seven league matches (three wins and three draws). On the negative side, Atlético are winless in their last four home matches, drawing three and losing one. Ignacio Galván, who was sent off last Monday, is suspended for Saturday. Instituto are enjoying an outstanding run of form. On Sunday night, they beat CA Central Córdoba 1-0 away thanks to a dramatic 89th-minute goal from Facundo Suárez. La Gloria have now won four consecutive league matches and have moved to the top of Group A with 12 points. They have also moved into the Copa Sudamericana qualification places in the overall standings. If they qualify, it would be their first appearance in international competition in their 108-year history. In addition, Instituto have won four of their last six away matches, drawing one and losing one. Instituto are very in form and full of confidence and I expect this great run to continue against this poor Atletico Tucuman that only won last week because they were facing one of the two worst teams in the league.
