Argentine Primera Division: Boca vs Lanus Odds for August 28, 2026

Boca vs Lanus

Boca Juniors continue to go through a highly inconsistent spell. On Sunday night, El Xeneize produced an underwhelming performance and drew 1-1 away to Racing Club. The result leaves Boca on seven points after six rounds of the Torneo Clausura, keeping them outside the Group A playoff qualification places. They are also three points behind the final Copa Libertadores qualification place in the overall standings, having won just one of their last seven league matches (four draws and two defeats). As hosts, Boca have lost just one league match in 2026, winning four and drawing six. This Friday, they will return to La Bombonera after playing their previous two home league matches at Huracán. Leandro Paredes and Lautaro Di Lollo are ready to return after overcoming their injuries. Lanús are still going through an inconsistent spell. On Monday night, El Granate were unable to hold on to their early lead and drew 1-1 at home against Argentinos Juniors, leaders of Group B and second in the overall standings. Lanús have won just one of their last five league matches (one draw and three defeats) and have seven points in the Torneo Clausura, leaving them outside the Group A playoff qualification places. They are also three points below the final Copa Sudamericana qualification place in the aggregate table. On the positive side, Lanús won their last away league match, beating Talleres 3-0 and ending a run of four consecutive away defeats in domestic competition. Boca has scored at least once in all but one home game this season and with their star Leandro Paredes in the starting lineup is impossible not to think that they will do it again here but they’ve also conceded in 4 of the last 5 and Lanus is a team that can definitely hurt them so I’ll go for the OVER.
