Aldosivi – Banfield
Aldosivi were unable to hold on to an early lead and ultimately came away empty-handed after losing 2-1 away to Argentinos Juniors on Sunday afternoon. Mariano Felices took charge as interim manager following Israel Damonte’s departure. Aldosivi have collected just two points from seven rounds of the Torneo Clausura and remain winless in league competition throughout the 2026 season. With 10 draws and 13 defeats, they are bottom of the overall standings, nine points behind Deportivo Riestra, the closest team currently outside the relegation places. At home, Aldosivi have drawn eight and lost three of their league matches this year. New coach Javier Sanguinetti will make his debut on Saturday. Banfield remain in an inconsistent spell. Last weekend, they lost 3-2 at home to River Plate in an entertaining match. El Taladro competed well but were unable to contain their opponents’ attacking power. They have seven points after seven rounds of the Torneo Clausura, leaving them outside the Group B playoff qualification places. Banfield have also won just one of their last five league matches (one draw and three defeats). In the overall standings, they are currently in a grey area, sitting 24th but 15 points clear of the relegation places. Aldosivi are bound to be relegated after still failing to win a league game this year and looking completely hopeless so I expect them to continue taking risks and I’ll take the OVER here against this Banfield that has conceded 7 goals in the last 3 games.
