Aldosivi – Defensa y Justicia
Aldosivi rose to the occasion in their return to the top flight but failed to secure points on their trip to Santiago del Estero, losing 1-0 away at CA Central Cordoba. The team protested a controversial disallowed goal when the match was still tied. This result ended their three-match unbeaten streak in the league (two wins and one draw). On a positive note, El Tiburon have been formidable at home, losing just one of their last 19 matches at Estadio José Maria Minella, with eight wins and ten draws. Defensa y Justicia had a disappointing start to 2025, surprisingly losing 1-0 at home to Banfield following a worrying performance. The defeat was marked by Juan Bautista Miritello’s missed penalty in the first half, ending their nine-match unbeaten run in the league (four wins and five draws). On the positive side, Pablo De Muner’s team remain unbeaten in their last four away matches, with two wins and two draws since their 4-3 loss at Racing Club in October. Aldosivi deserved better luck in the first round and considering how strong they’ve been at home, I’m going to trust them at these high odds here against the very irregular Defensa y Justicia.
