Argentinos Jrs vs Instituto
Argentinos Juniors continue to prove itself as one of the best teams in the league in 2025. Last Monday, Nicolás Diez’s side completely dominated their home match against Independiente Rivadavia but lacked efficiency, ultimately settling for a goalless draw. As a result, El Bicho were levelled by Tigre and Estudiantes at the top of Group A, all sitting at 15 points. They are now nine league matches unbeaten (five wins and four draws). In fact, Argentinos hasn’t lost at home in five games (three wins, two draws). All first-team players are available to face Instituto.
After an interesting start to the season, Instituto are going through a rough patch. Last week, the team were outplayed from start to finish and suffered a 2-0 defeat against Independiente away from home. As a result, La Gloria failed to win any of their last four matches (one draw and three losses without scoring), a slump that has pushed them out of the playoff zone in Group B, with seven points from as many games. To make matters worse, Instituto has gone 11 matches without an away win, collecting just three points out of a possible 33. Facundo Suárez remains the only injured player in Pedro Troglio’s squad.
I’ll trust Argentinos again despite their scoreless draw last week. They are still one of the best teams so far this season, one of the two still undefeated, and will face this Instituto that has been just terrible playing away and once again will miss their striker Facundo Suarez.
