Argentinos Jrs vs Platense
On matchday 2, Argentinos Juniors confirmed the good impression left in their debut by defeating Tigre 1-0 at home, thanks to a first-half goal from their captain, Alan Rodriguez. With this result, Nicolas Diez’s team collected four out of six possible points in the Torneo Apertura. In fact, El Bicho are now unbeaten in four league matches, with two wins and two draws in that span. At home, Argentinos lost just one of their last 11 games, winning six and drawing four.
Platense are enjoying a strong start to the season, on their way to establishing themselves in the top division. Last Tuesday, the team secured a stunning 1-0 victory over defending champions Vélez Sarsfield on the road, with Guido Mainero scoring in the 92nd minute. El Calamar have now collected four points in the Torneo Apertura and are unbeaten in three league matches (two wins and one draw), while also breaking a four-game winless streak away from home (having earned just two points from 12 in that span). The entire squad are available for coaches Sergio Gómez and Favio Orsi ahead of Monday’s derby.
This is a derby, big rivalry between them and a game neither wants to lose. Platense has looked solid so far avoiding defeats against River and Velez, so I think they can do it again and they are worth a bet at these odds.
