Atletico Tucuman vs Sarmiento
Atletico Tucuman keep getting worse with each match. On Saturday, the team were dominated from start to finish and deservedly lost 3-1 to Rosario Central away from home. This was their third consecutive league defeat, leaving them with just three points in four Torneo Apertura matches. This poor run led to the early resignation of head coach Facundo Sava. Atletico lost 3-0 to Deportivo Riestra in their last home game, ending a five-match unbeaten streak at Estadio Jose Fierro (four wins and one draw). Coach Lucas Pusineri will start his second spell at the club on Thursday and will be without Renzo Tesuri and Kevin Lopez. On the other hand, striker Leandro Diaz arrived from Lanus and would start.
Sarmiento continue to struggle at the start of the season. Last Thursday, the team barely managed to salvage a 1-1 home draw against newcomers San Martin SJ after falling behind. With that result, El Verde accumulated two points in the Torneo Apertura and are now winless in seven league matches, with four draws and three losses, keeping them with the worst points average (excluding newly promoted teams). In fact, Sarmiento have gone 13 matches without a win as visitors, drawing four and losing nine.
The coach change should be a refresher for Atletico Tucuman and if they have LEandro Diaz in attack, their offense should improve as well. A game at home against the very poor Sarmiento looks like a great opportunity for them to recover and get a win they really need.
