Defensa y Justicia vs Argentinos Jrs
Defensa y Justicia secured a very valuable result last Friday, drawing 1-1 away to Tigre and remaining one of the top teams in Group A. They now sit on 16 points and continue in the playoff positions. However, with just one win in their last four league matches (one draw and two defeats), El Halcón are still far from the Copa Sudamericana spots in the aggregate table. At home, Defensa have had a strong campaign so far, collecting 13 points from a possible 18. Argentinos Juniors did not show their best form last Friday and had to settle for a dull goalless draw at home against CA Central Córdoba. However, they remain unbeaten in their last three league matches (two wins and one draw), which keeps them inside the playoff positions on 15 points. On the downside, this disappointing result pushed them out of the Copa Libertadores qualification spots. Away from home, Argentinos have collected just four points from 18 on offer in the Clausura. Can’t see Argentinos as favorites here considering their irregular performances so far, especially away. Defensa as been as irregular as them but they’ve been strong at home, and considering they both need points to qualify to the playoffs, I’ll go with the hosts here.
