Defensa y Justicia vs Barracas Central
Defensa y Justicia are in great form. Last Wednesday, the team secured a huge away victory, defeating Newell’s Old Boys 1-0 thanks to a stoppage-time goal from Juan Bautista Miritello. El Halcón extended their unbeaten streak to four matches (three wins and one draw), accumulating 10 points in the Torneo Apertura, just one behind leaders Argentinos Juniors and Estudiante. Additionally, Defensa lost only one of their last 11 home league matches, winning six and drawing four.
Barracas Central secured a valuable point on Tuesday, drawing 3-3 against CA Central Córdoba as hosts at Sarandí Arsenal, thanks to a penalty converted by Rodrigo Insua in the sixth minute of added time. El Guapo extended their unbeaten streak in the league to four matches (two wins and two draws) and reached eight points in five rounds of the Torneo Apertura, remaining in the playoff qualification zone. Barracas are also unbeaten in their last four away matches, winning two and drawing two.
Barracas has been quite lucky lately, getting points despite their very poor squad and I think this good Defensa team can be too much for them.
