Gimnasia – Aldosivi
After a promising debut, Gimnasia LP were unable to sustain their level in Wednesday’s visit to River Plate. Hampered by a red card before the 10th minute, El Lobo were outplayed and eventually fell to a 2-0 defeat. Fernando Zaniratto’s side have collected three points from the first two rounds of the Torneo Apertura, and this marked their second loss in the last three league matches (with one win in that span). At home, Gimnasia have won two and lost four of their last six games. Aldosivi still have work to do to find their best form in 2026. On Wednesday, the team once again produced a flat performance and had to settle for a 0-0 draw at home against Barracas Central. El Tiburón have collected two points in the Torneo Apertura, with no goals scored or conceded after the first two rounds (both played at the José María Minella Stadium). On the positive side, they are now five matches unbeaten in the league (three wins and two draws), which keeps them in 28th place in the relegation averages table. Aldosivi are again one of the worst teams of the league, they have no goals scored or conceded even though they played both games at home, and I expect them to be in trouble against this good Gimnasia.
