Godoy Cruz vs Barracas Central
Godoy Cruz finally secured their first league win of the semester, coming from behind to beat Platense 3-1 away from home two weeks ago. With that result, El Tomba moved to six points in the Clausura and snapped a seven-match winless streak in this competition (three draws and four losses), while also extending their cushion to five points above the relegation zone on the aggregate table. At home, Godoy Cruz have collected just one point from a possible nine so far this semester.
Barracas Central continue their strong run in the league. Two weeks ago, the team came from behind to defeat Newell’s Old Boys 2-1 away from home, with goals from Facundo Bruera and Iván Tapia. El Guapo climbed to the top of Group A with 14 points after a five-match unbeaten streak in the Clausura (three wins and two draws). They also remain in the qualification zone for next season’s Copa Sudamericana. In fact, Barracas have collected 10 out of a possible 12 points on the road in this tournament.
Barracas are the surprising Group A leaders after losing only one game in 7 rounds and they will visit a Godoy Cruz that won only one game and has some important missings like defender Leonardo Jara and their young star Santiago Andino who is suspended so I’ll go with the away team not to lose.
