Huracan – Argentinos Jrs
Huracán took a step forward in their push for a playoff spot in the Torneo Apertura on Monday night, as after falling behind, they managed a 1-1 draw against Tigre thanks to a goal from striker Jordy Caicedo. El Globo have now extended their unbeaten run to five league matches (two wins and three draws), holding on to a playoff position with 21 points, currently sitting sixth in Group B. That consistency has kept them firmly in the qualification picture, and their home form has also been encouraging, with the side coached by Diego Martínez winning four of their last six matches at their own stadium (one draw and one defeat). The full squad is available ahead of Monday’s clash against Argentinos Juniors. Argentinos Juniors secured their place in the playoffs last weekend, as despite not being at their best, they claimed a 1-0 home win over Atlético Tucumán thanks to a second-half goal from Tomás Molina. They have now lost just one of their last ten matches in the Torneo Apertura (six wins and three draws), sitting third in Group B with 26 points, four behind leaders Independiente Rivadavia. However, their performances on the road have been more inconsistent, with one win, two draws, and two defeats so far this season. Huracan can secure a playoffs spot with a win while Argentinos already has it, also the visitors won’t have playmaker Hernan Lopez Muñoz who is suspended and considering their irregular performances when playing away I can’t see why they would be favorites here.
