Racing Club secured a crucial victory in their visit to Unión Santa Fe last Thursday, winning 1-0 with a goal from Adrián Martínez, despite being dominated throughout the match. With this result, La Academia ended a five-game winless streak (one draw and four losses) and remain in contention for a playoff spot. Gustavo Costas’ team now have 13 points, just one behind eighth-placed Barracas Central in Group A. As visitors in the Torneo Apertura, Racing recorded two wins, one draw, and three losses. Last Sunday, the team beat third-tier club Santamarina 2-0 in the Copa Argentina first round.
Racing has been very irregular lately but they are still alive in this competition, one point behind the playoffs zone and because of this despite their debut next week in Copa Libertadores, they will use their best possible lineup here. They won’t have their starting goalkeeper, Gabrial Arias, who is suspended, as well as important defender Gabriel Garcia Basso who is still injured and considering how poor they’ve been defensively but how strong they are always in attack, I’ll go for the OVER.
