Lanus vs Gimnasia
Lanús seems to be finding their best form after a difficult start. On Sunday, the team celebrated a valuable 1-0 away victory over Talleres thanks to a first-half goal from Walter Bou. With this result, El Granate now hold a mini streak of two consecutive league wins and have reached six points in the Torneo Apertura, placing them in playoff qualification spots. Lanus lost only one of their last six home matches, winning three and drawing two in that span. Ramiro Carrera returns after his injury.
Gimnasia LP finally returned to winning ways last Sunday, delivering a much-improved performance to defeat Godoy Cruz 3-0 at home under interim coach Fernando Zaniratto, with striker Rodrigo Castillo in top form. El Lobo snapped a six-match losing streak in the league without scoring a single goal, securing their first three points in the Torneo Apertura. However, Gimnasia haven’t won in their last nine away matches, recording four draws and five losses. New head coach Diego Flores will make his debut on Thursday.
Lanus looked good lately on consecutive wins, I’m still not convinced by this poor Gimnasia despite their win in the last round, and especially not when they play away where they have a terrible streak so I’ll trust the hosts here.
