Newell’s vs Belgrano
Newell’s Old Boys is showing signs of improvement under new coach Cristian Fabbiani. Last Tuesday, La Lepra secured a 2-1 away victory over Atlético Tucumán, thanks to a brace from Mateo Silvetti, which ended their four-game losing streak in the league. With this result, Newell’s reached six points, moving four points clear of last place in the overall standings.
Belgrano continues to show worrying inconsistency. In the last match, the team failed to hold onto their lead and ended up losing 3-1 against newly promoted San Martín SJ away. As a result, El Pirata suffered their second defeat in three matches since the return of Ricardo Zielinski, with only one victory in that span. This leaves them with just eight points in as many games in the Torneo Apertura. Additionally, Belgrano have gone five matches without a win away from home, collecting just one point out of a possible 15 during that stretch.
Newell’s finally won a game, looked good and there might be hope for them now that they have a new coach that is coming from doing a very good job with Deportivo Riestra. Belgrano on the other hand are not looking any better, especially when playing away so at these odds I’m going to trust the hosts.
