Platense vs Lanus
Platense suffered an undeserved defeat in the last matchday, falling 1-0 at home to Defensa y Justicia despite controlling much of the game. The match, originally played on Sunday, was interrupted and completed on Tuesday due to heavy rain. With this result, El Calamar extended their winless streak to four league matches (two draws and two defeats). However, they still hold a playoff spot in Group B, sitting at nine points. Additionally, Platense’s impressive 10-match unbeaten home streak came to an end (six wins and four draws).
Lanús continue to struggle with inconsistency. Last Sunday, the team put in another poor performance but managed to salvage a point thanks to a penalty converted by Walter Bou, securing a 1-1 away draw against Independiente Rivadavia. El Granate are now winless in four league matches (three draws and one loss), leaving them with just nine points (still inside the playoff zone). On the road, they have collected four points from four matches, with one win, one draw, and two losses.
Big game for both as they are fighting to get into the playoffs in Group B and they are tied with 9 points in the 7th and 8th place. Platense has been quite solid despite last week’s defeat, Lanus looks too irregular especially when playing away, so at these odds I’ll trust the hosts to get very important points.
