Argentine Primera Division: River vs Lanus Odds for February 16, 2025

River vs Lanus

River Plate continue to underperform considering the squad they have assembled. On Wednesday, El Millonario put on a disappointing display and recorded a lackluster 0-0 draw against Godoy Cruz on the road. However, they remain unbeaten in the Torneo Apertura, collecting nine points from two wins and three draws, keeping them within the playoff zone in Group B and three points behind leaders Independiente. Additionally, River are undefeated in their last seven home league matches, winning five and drawing two. Manuel Lanzini succumbed to a clavicle injury and will miss out.

Lanus were unlucky on Thursday, squandering several clear scoring chances and ultimately settling for a goalless draw against Gimnasia LP at home. However, they remain in good form: El Granate are now unbeaten in three straight matches in the Torneo Apertura, with two wins and a draw, accumulating seven points, which keeps them in a playoff spot in Group B. In fact, Lanus lost just one of their last six away matches, winning three and drawing two.

River won’t have playmaker Manuel Lanzini who is injured, same as Maximiliano Meza and Matias Rojas, all talented players that should lead their attack. If they’ve been poor and disappointing lately I don’t know how they will be better without them so I’m going to trust Lanus to cover the handicap.

BET: Lanus +1 @ 1.91
