Rosario Central – Aldosivi
Rosario Central once again rose to the occasion in a major fixture after a difficult start, beating River Plate 1-0 away on Sunday night thanks to an excellent collective performance and an own goal from Nicolás Otamendi. El Canalla picked up their first win in the Torneo Clausura, moved onto four points in Group B and ended a three-match winless run in the league (one draw and two defeats), putting them into the Copa Sudamericana qualification places in the overall standings. At home, Central are unbeaten in their last seven domestic matches, recording five wins and two draws. Aldosivi still cannot find a way to pick up points. On Sunday afternoon, El Tiburón once again produced a poor performance and lost 2-1 at home to Gimnasia y Esgrima de La Plata. As a result, they have just one point after three rounds of the Torneo Clausura, remain in the relegation zone in the overall standings — five points behind Deportivo Riestra, the first team currently safe — and are still without a league win in 2026, with nine draws and ten defeats. On the road, Aldosivi have collected just two of 30 available points this year. Aldosivi are just terrible and unless they pull out a miracle out of somewhere in the last 13 games of the season, they will be relegated in December. This is the kind of games that Rosario Central at home must win and I expect them to do it.
