Rosario Central vs San Martin de San Juan
Thanks to another penalty converted by Ángel Di María, Rosario Central secured their first win of the semester last Saturday, defeating Lanús 1-0 away to reach four points in the Torneo Clausura and remain atop the aggregate table, having lost just one of their last 12 league matches (seven wins and four draws). Central have also won nine of their last 11 home games, with one draw and one loss in that span. Jaminton Campaz and Ignacio Malcorra are ready to return after recovering from injury. Facundo Mallo remains sidelined. San Martín SJ are not ready to throw in the towel just yet. Last Monday, the team put in a determined performance to earn a 3-2 home win over Deportivo Riestra, picking up their first three points of the Torneo Clausura and snapping a three-game losing streak in the league. They are now just four points behind Aldosivi in the battle to avoid relegation via the average points table. San Martín have managed only two points from a possible 24 on the road since returning to the top flight. Rosario Central is still adapting to have world champion Angel Di Maria but things are going well for them and having playmaker Ignacio Malcorra is definitely good news but also missing important defender Facundo Mallo could give them some trouble. San Martin has shown improvements as they keep fighting to avoid relegation, they are playing better attacking football as shown on the 4 goals they scored in the first two games so I’ll take the OVER here because 2 goals are definitely possible.
