Talleres vs Lanus
Talleres were tied 0-0 as visitors against Godoy Cruz at Gimnasia Mendoza at halftime on Tuesday when the match was suspended due to incidents. As a result, La T remains without points in the Torneo Apertura and hold their streak of three consecutive league defeats. Two of those losses came at Estadio Mario Alberto Kempes, falling to Newell’s Old Boys and Independiente, conceding three goals in each match.
Lanús took a breather after a poor start to the season last Saturday when they defeated Sarmiento 2-0 at home, with goals from Marcelino Moreno and Eduardo Salvio in the first half. This victory gave Mauricio Pellegrino’s team their first three points in the Torneo Apertura and also ended a three-match winless streak in the league (one draw and two losses). Additionally, El Granate lost 2-1 to Rosario Central in their last away match after going four games unbeaten on the road (two wins and two draws).
Talleres defense has been awful, conceding 4 goals in the first two rounds but at the same time they are a good team that sooner than later will step up and start winning. Lanus scored 4 midweek in a Copa Argentina win, and 2 against Sarmiento in the previous round, so I expect to see an open game with goals from both sides.
