Tigre – Racing
Tigre’s fans were left frustrated on Thursday night, as their team drew 1-1 away to Belgrano after holding the lead until the 83rd minute. Still, it was an important point in what was expected to be a difficult match, and El Matador moved to four points after two rounds of the Torneo Apertura. Overall, they are now four league games unbeaten (two wins and two draws in regular time). At home, Tigre have gone seven matches without defeat, recording three wins and four draws. Racing Club extended their poor start to the season last Wednesday, when they delivered a below-par performance and fell 2-1 at home to Rosario Central. La Academia remain without points in the 2026 Torneo Apertura and have now gone three straight league matches without a win (one draw and two defeats in regular time). Gustavo Costas’ side had already lost 2-1 to Gimnasia LP in their season opener, a result that snapped a four-match unbeaten run on away turf in this competition (three wins and one draw). I’m surprised by this short totals line considering Racing can be one of the best attacking teams, both of their games so far this season finished with a 1-2 score and they will be desperate to stop this bad run.
