Tigre vs Racing
Tigre played their worst match of the year last Friday, as they were clearly outplayed and deservedly lost 2-0 on the road against Huracan. As a result, the team dropped out of the playoff zone in Group A, accumulating six points from the first four rounds of the Torneo Apertura, with two wins and two losses. On a positive note, Tigre have won both of their home matches this season, defeating Velez Sarsfield 3-0 and Union Santa Fe 1-0.
Racing Club returned to winning ways last Saturday with an excellent display of football, defeating Boca Juniors 2-0 at home with goals from Luciano Vietto and AdriAn Martínez. La Academia reached nine points in four rounds of the Torneo Apertura, sitting just one behind Group A leaders, Argentinos Juniors. Gustavo Costas’ team won four of their last five league matches, with only one loss in that span. Away from home, Racing lost two of the last three but secured a 3-1 victory over Barracas Central.
Racing won’t have their top scorer Adrian Martinez due to injury but they still have enough attacking power in Vietto, Salas and Balboa to put Tigre in danger so I’ll go here for the OVER as Tigre has been decent in attack and should be able to score at home as well.
