Argentine Primera Division: Union vs Racing Odds for March 20, 2025

Union vs Racing

Unión Santa Fe returned to winning ways last Monday, delivering a convincing performance to defeat Banfield 3-1 at home with goals from Ezequiel Ham, Marcelo Estigarribia, and Diego Díaz. With this victory, Unión reached eight points in the Torneo Apertura and escaped the relegation zone in the accumulated standings. They have now won two of their last three matches, with only one defeat in that span. Additionally, El Tatengue has been strong at home, collecting seven of the last nine points available in their stadium. All starters are available for Cristian González ahead of Thursday’s match against Racing Club.

Racing Club came close to returning to victory last Sunday, but ended up drawing 1-1 as a visitor against Independiente after conceding a goal in the 79th minute. La Academia remains in a league crisis, having failed to win in five matches (one draw and four losses). As a result, they are still outside the playoff zone in Group A, with 10 points, sitting four behind the eighth spot. Additionally, Racing has struggled away from home, collecting just one point from the last 12 available in this tournament.

Racing has been quite irregular lately and they are reaching the point where if they don’t get a few wins in these last 7 games, they might even miss the playoffs. Union finally got their 2nd win of the season and they looked more confident last weekend. With Vietto back in the starting lineup Racing’s attack should be at full speed and as usual when they play we should have an open match so I’ll take the OVER here.
