Tigre – Aldosivi
Tigre are without a doubt one of the best teams in Argentine football at the start of the 2026 season. Last Saturday, they delivered an almost perfect performance and completely outplayed River Plate, cruising to an emphatic 4-1 away win. As a result, El Matador reached ten points from the first 12 available in the Torneo Apertura and sit second of both Group B and the overall standings. In fact, they are now six matches unbeaten in league play (four wins and two draws in regular time). At home, Tigre are eight games without defeat (four wins and four draws). Thanks to a goal from Nicolás Cordero in the 87th minute, Aldosivi avoided what would have been an unjust defeat and finished with a 1-1 draw at home against Rosario Central. Given the way the match unfolded and the quality of the opponent, it was a valuable point for El Tiburón, but they still remain winless in the Torneo Apertura: they have collected three points from four matches, with three draws and one defeat. As a result, they continue to sit 28th in the relegation average table. Aldosivi have won two and lost two of their last four away league matches. Tigre can become leaders of Group B with a win here and although I expect them to get it against one of the weakest teams in the league, I also like the OVER on this short totals lines. They scored 4 at River last week in a historic game for the club and they have 10 goals in 4 games so 2 should definitely be possible here.
