Belgrano vs Tigre

After a poor 2025 campaign, Belgrano got off to an excellent start to the new year last Saturday, when they pulled off a major upset by defeating Rosario Central 2-1 away from home, against last season’s annual table leaders. The team recovered from an unjust deficit with goals in the 88th and 89th minutes to claim their first three points of the Torneo Apertura. Ricardo Zielinski’s side have lost just one of their last ten league matches (three wins and six draws). At home, Belgrano are unbeaten in five games, although they have managed only one win and four draws in that run. The head coach has all his regular starters available for Thursday. Tigre opened the new season with a smile, as they had little trouble seeing off newly promoted Estudiantes Río Cuarto and claimed a comfortable 2-0 home win, with goals from Alan Barrionuevo and Jalil Elías. El Matador picked up their first three points of the Torneo Apertura and extended their unbeaten league run to three matches (two wins and one draw in regular time). Away from home, Tigre have lost just one of their last six league matches (two wins and three draws). Belgrano’s comeback to win at Rosario Central left a great impression and that’s why I’m going to trust them at home against the irregular Tigre.
