Lanus vs Instituto
Lanús were very close to securing a win last weekend, but lacked efficiency in attack and had to settle for a goalless draw in their visit to Platense. As a result, El Granate have now gone five league matches without a victory (four draws and one loss), leaving them with 10 points in nine rounds of the Torneo Apertura. However, that is still enough to keep them in the playoff zone of Group B. In 2025, Lanús collected five points from four home matches (one win, two draws, and one loss).
Instituto continue to struggle in the league. Last Sunday, the team showed an improved performance but failed to reflect it in the result: a 1-1 draw at home against Godoy Cruz extended its winless streak to six matches (two draws and four defeats). As a result, La Gloria remains outside the playoff zone in Group B, with eight points, sitting two behind eighth place. Additionally, Instituto have gone 12 matches without a win away from home, collecting just three points out of a possible 36 in that span.
Both have really struggled to score lately. Lanus has only 1 in the last 5 games and it was a penalty in a 1-1 draw against Independiente Rivadavia. Instituto are even worse: only 1 goal in the last 6 games and they couldn’t even score once in 5 away games this season, so I expect nothing but a tight game with few chances for both.
